A man accused of getting money by false pretense and posing as a female prostitute has been remanded to Luzira prisons.

Briton Muhoozi, 20, a non-employed residing in Naguru, Nakawa division, was arrested after at Kireka dressed dressed in women clothes standing by the roadside 'waiting for customers'.

Muhoozi, who appeared before Nakawa Court Friday, pleaded guilty and told court that he was masquerading as a prostitute due to poverty.

"I am not employed and I fear to involve in theft, that's why I have been pretending to be a prostitute," Muhoozi told court.

Muhoozi added that he started his ploy two months ago.

"I had done all sorts of work like brick laying, charcoal burning but things never worked out. I had no choice but to start faking prostitution because that's where quick money is," Muhoozi added.

In response Magistrate Christine Nantege ordered Muhoozi to be taken to Luzira until September 27, this year when the ruling will be delivered.

It is alleged that on Thursday last week, Muhoozi was arrested by the Police during a night patrol around Kireka, where they found him standing by the roadside calling  passers-by in a seductive tone promising them cheap services.
