Museveni emphasizes need for road construction

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has stressed the need for government to further push up road construction projects focusing on the main roads so that the building of access roads to strategic institutions and towns can follow later. 

 

The President was on Friday evening responding to the request by Bishop Dr. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu of Central Buganda Diocese for government to construct the Mityana – Kanoni Road. 

 

Museveni had paid a visit to St. Andrew’s Cathedral Church in Mityana district where he noted that the Cathedral is small and requires enlargement to accommodate bigger congregations. 

 

He pledged Shs.80 million (eighty million shillings) towards the reconstruction efforts with a view to expanding the structure.

“Being on earth without doing God's work is not good. If we are before God, He might ask what we have been doing on earth,” Museveni observed.

 

The President thanked the Mothers’ Union for being instrumental in teaching married couples on the best ways to keep marriage blossoming and the maintenance of discipline in the family. 

 

The Bishop of Central Buganda Diocese, Dr. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu thanked the President for the good governance that has brought peace in the country. 

 

He also thanked government for building them such as Mubende Kazenyi Senior Secondary and Mityana Senior Secondary Schools, the construction of Masaka – Mityana Road and also for the two Municipalities of Mityana and Mubende.
