The four expelled NRM MPs have got a lifeline from Supreme Court court to continue their stay in Parliament until an appeal challenging their ouster by the Constitutional Court, is decided.

The four expelled NRM MPs have got a lifeline  from Supreme Court court to continue their stay in Parliament until an appeal challenging their ouster by the Constitutional Court, is decided.


In the ruling delivered Thursday at the court in Kampala,the execution of the Constitutional Court verdict of February 21 this year, was halted.

“We are satisfied that in this case, in the interest of justice demands that the issues in dispute should be heard and determined on appeal,” the court ruled.

Justices Bart Katureebe, Jotham Tumwesigye,  Benjamin Odoki,Wilson Tsekooko,Galdino Okello, and Christine Kitumba, made the majority decision.

Justice Tsekooko read the majority ruling on behalf of the panel, while  Justice Esther Kisaakye who disagreed made the dissenting opinion.
