SEYCHELLES are in Kampala where they enjoyed a successful training session at Wankulukuku in preparation for a friendly against the Uganda Cranes on Friday.

Seychelles is expected to camp here before their AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone while Uganda is preparing to take on Mauritania on July 19.

Uganda Cranes defender Godfrey Walusimbi is back after suspension but the team will miss the services of midfielder Tony Mawejje, defenders Khalid Aucho, Henry Kalungi and striker Geoffrey Sserunkuuma.

Aucho is suspended for the first leg at Namboole while Kalungi and Sserunkuuma are engaged in switching to new clubs in South Africa and Denmark respectively.

Mawejje has requested to be exempted as he struggles to settle in at FK Haugesund in Norway leaving coach Milutin Sredojevic scratching his head for a replacement.

Cranes defender Richard Kasagga (R) vies for posession with a player from a select side from Western Uganda during the recent countrywide tour.

Micho hopes to use international friendlies against Seychelles to be played at KCCA Stadium and Malawi at Namboole on Tuesday to fine tune and cut the size of the squad.

“We have switched easily from thinking about Equatorial Guinea and I’m sure we shall get a result against Mauritania. We are training expecting French football but we shall not respect them too much,” Micho said.

Walusimbi was suspended for the first round ties against Madagascar but will now join foreign based stars Denis Onyango, Andy Mwesigwa Geoffrey Kizito, Moses Oloya and Luwagga Kizito all of whom are expected to be available against Malawi on Tuesday.

The professional players join the 21 players, who have been engaged in build-up matches in the Western and North Eastern regions of the country.
