IT will surprise no one that Tornado’s visit to the Rounders went to the wire. Nor will it be a surprise who ultimately won.

Stephen Kahuma scored a game-best 69 runs and Zubair Tembo claimed 3/30 in 10 overs as Tornado held on to beat the Rounders by three runs in Jinja.

Rounders leading runs scored Narinder Singh once again led by example, smashing a team-best 55 runs off 52 as the hosts chased down their target of 216-to-win with real intent.

Tornado had reached their total for the loss of nine wickets after winning the toss and electing to bat. Aggrey Kintu took 3/36 in nine overs for the Rounders who put themselves in a great position to get their third straight home win.

But Tornado have the experience to come through such tight spots and so it turned out. Mark you this is a game Frank Nsubuga’s side could not afford to lose if their title ambitions were to remain on track.

The victory took them to 22 points, five behind table leaders and defending champions Tornado B.
