China-Uganda Friendship Hospital - Naguru has secured sh1.5b from government towards the construction of staff quarters.

The quarters will be constructed in Kireka.  The health facility has 356 staff.

We shall have several blocks, but the first block will be completed in 2014/15 financial year,” the hospital’s director, Dr Edward Naddumba said.

Naddumba added that each block will have four floors, with eight units, and each unit will have two bedrooms.

Speaking at ground breaking ceremony at Kireka, the ministry of health Permanent secretary Dr. Asuman Lukwago warned engineers against shoddy work.

“We don’t want buildings which will collapse,” he warned.

Naddumba said the hospital is also providing a van to transport the staff from the place of their residence to the hospital.

Recently over one hundred health workers were recruited at the hospital. The medical personnel including Doctors, Nurses and midwives among others were recruited by the health service commission.
