In the recent past, torture has been one of the leading human rights violations in Uganda, but thanks to the efforts by Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), the crime is steadily reducing. As Uganda joins the rest of the United Nations member states, to commemorate International Day in support of victims of torture, which is celebrated on June 26, every year. This year’s theme being “Fighting impunity.
