The LDC Court has postponed the Kayanja sodomy case after the two accusers defied orders and never showed up in Court.

According to LDC Court magistrate Jolly Nkore, the two suspects; Ibrahim Nsubuga and Moses Muwanguzi started defying court orders after they learnt that the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) lodged two fresh cases of corruption, which will be handled by Anti-Corruption Court and defamation.

“It is now the fourth time Muwanguzi and Nsubuga are not turning up in Court since they were granted bail. After learning of new charges they absconded court, but if they miss to appear on June 30 this year, I will issue warrant of arrest and they will be arrested again,” Nkore told court.

The two suspects were on August 16 last year granted cash bail of sh500, 000 each and sh5m non cash bail.

On August 10, the two were denied bail on grounds that their charges were linked to corruption.

In her submission to court, the State Prosecutor Betty Agalo asked court to give time to the DPP’s office since the charges of (fabricating and destroying evidence) exhibited corruption tendencies which the court allowed.

Nkore adjourned the case to June 30, this year.

It is alleged that between June 3 and June 18 last year, Nsubuga and Muwanguzi bribed Dr. Umar Kasule of Mulago hospital with sh500, 000 to issue a medical form showing that Muwanguzi was sodomized by pastor Kayanja.

The two are accused of destroying a medical form.

The duo was arrested on June 27 and charged with fabricating and destroying evidence which is contrary to section (99) and (102) of the Penal Code Act.

Before they were granted bail, the suspects pleaded not guilty and told court that Kayanja abducted and sodomized Muwanguzi on a gun point.
