A girls select cricket team is keen to win all matches at a T-20 tournament that will run for four days in Rwanda

A girls select cricket team is keen to win all matches at a T-20 tournament that will run for four days in Rwanda starting tomorrow.

The competition will also enable the emerging talent get a taste of different skills.

The team was flagged off by the National Council of Sports (NCS) assistant general secretary David Katende at Lugogo yesterday.

NCS believes the youngsters have also embarked on a journey to move up the ladder to the national team.

Rachael Ntono, captain of the team bound for Rwanda, said before departure that the players will live up to the challenge.

“Everyone is comfortable in the department she plays in,” Ntono stated.

“We are positive that we will emulate our male counterparts who won all their games during a trip to the same country last year.”

The team will look to all-rounder Ntono, Prico Nakitende and Damalie Busingye for inspiration.

The three players are back on the international stage. 

They were in the U-19 national team that won the All Africa girls tournament in Dar es Salaam last year. 

The full team for the Rwanda tournament. Damalie Busingye, Kevin Awino, Rachael Ntono, Prico Nakitende, Sadic Shakira, Saidat Kemigisha, Wanichan, Regius Tumusiime, Dorothy Losike, Evelyn Anyipo, Veronika Nakadama, Florence Basemera, Carolyn Marunga and Shamin Kyakyo.
