KAMPALA - Medics at Mulago hospital were left dumbfounded by a child born with four extra limbs.

They are from Nabijingo village, Bulinda sub-county, Bugiri district.

The shocked parents who are stranded at Mulago already have four children back home. Okongo says he does not know how the children will cope alone at home.

Okongo narrated that at six months his wife got very uncomfortable and was rushed to Bugiri hospital for treament. He said two months later the wife gave birth at home.

"I was in my garden when neighbours informed me that my wife had given birth, but the child had extra limbs," he said.

He said they rushed the child to Bugiri hospital where medics were overwhelmed by what they saw.

The hospital then provided them with a free vehicle and transferred the baby to Mulago hospital.

Scola Mukimba, who is the deputy in-charge of Ward 2C at Mulago, says the child is in good condition.

The spokesperson of Mulago hospital, Enock Kusasira says the baby is well and breastfeeding normally. He said Awino would have given birth to twins had the pregnancy progressed normally.

He said their specialists would diagnose and see where the extra limbs are joined to the baby.
