The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) executive director, Jennifer Musisi, will interact with the public on Twitter on Thursday, in her second twitter chat on issues affecting the city.

Musisi will respond to tweets under the hashtag #AskTheED, through KCCA’s official twitter account that has 16,200 followers.

In the first Twitter chat held on April 23, over 100 tweets were sent with questions ranging from the KCCA youth fund to roads, city markets and public transport.

KCCA spokesperson, Peter Kaujju, said some of the issues raised by the public during the first session had been addressed.

“In the last session, the ED interacted with about 600 people on Facebook and Twitter. We have been able to pick many ideas and addressed some of the issues raised by the online community,” Kaujju said.

“KCCA as an institution believes in sharing and getting information to the public as well as picking ideas and that explains our presence on social media.”

KCCA is capitalizing on its social media presence with 50,000 on Facebook, twitter and YouTube to respond to public queries on issues affecting the city.

During last month’s session which lasted about two hours, questions from the public focused on service delivery issues and commendation to KCCA on various city projects.

Kaujju encouraged urged the public to also regularly visit the KCCA website www.kcca.go.ug for updates on city projects and queries.

He said KCCA would continue to utilize online platforms to inform the public on issues that they may not ordinarily present to KCCA face to face due to the tight routine.
