A closed-door meeting convened by Dennis Namara, the chairperson of the NRM Youth League at Plot 10, Kyadondo, has suspended three NRM youth leaders for “disorganizing young people within the structures” of the NRM party.

The meeting also agreed to call off any youth conferences that have been summoned this month by an errant youth group.
Moses Kiwanuka (vice chairperson Eastern region), Ibrahim Kitata (Lwengo district chairperson) and David Kabanda (Sembabule youth leader) are the suspended leaders.

Namara said that the meeting he chaired also resolved to withdraw support from the three individuals and that: “whoever deals with them on any matter concerning the NRM youth league does so at his\her own risk.”

The suspension letter of the trio was signed by Namara, Robert Rutaro (general secretary), William Seruyinda (vice Central), Justus Nuwajuna (vice Western), Willy Omodo Omodo (vice Northern), Adam Luzindana (vice Kampala), Robinah Norah Akwi (treasurer), Eng. Edwin Agaba (deputy treasurer), Peter Pex (vice Karamoja), Alex Kaweesa (publicity) and David Kisoolo (deputy secretary general). All these leaders attended the closed-door meeting at NRM party headquarters—except the suspended leaders.

The suspension has come at a time when various splinter youth groups are mobilizing fellow youth for conferences to endorse a party candidate for 2016 general elections.
