Pader became a district in the year 2000 when it was curved out of Kitgum district in Acholi subregion. Like any other district in northern Uganda, Pader was affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army insurgency which saw people camped in the internally displaced peoples’ (IDP) camps for better protection by the Government.
NGOs urge communities to maintain facilities

NONGovernmental organisations (NGOs) in Pader district have been urged to sensitise the communities on the need to protect facilities put in place by the NGOs and the District Local Government. George Odong Otto, the Pader NGO forum coordinator said recently that communities do not care to maintain the facilities.
