UGANDA Christian University (UCU) continued with their unbeaten run in the Nile Special University Football League after drawing 1-1 against MUBS in Mukono.

MUBS first took the lead in the 19th minute through Matua Joshua before Solomon Lwanga levelled for UCU at the end of the first half.

UCU put a good performance in the first 45 minutes as they played entirely in MUBS’ half. MUBS goal keeper Ovoya Fred looked good as he made various superb saves to keep the hosts at bay.

MUBS tried to come back in the second half but UCU still kept attacking the Nakawa based side. UCU almost took the lead through Amos Muwonge’s shot at the near post but Ovoya again made a fantastic save.

MUBS now top the Group A table with 13 points, two below second placed UCU.

MUBS will face the fourth team in Group B in the quarterfinals while UCU will take on the third placed team.

In games to be played on Thursday, KIU will have the chance to secure second spot in Group B. KIU who are seeking their fourth win, will take on Ndejje University which is yet to register a single victory.
