Uganda Franchises in the Bamburi Rugby Super Series Tournament Hima Rwenzori and Protector Victoria faltered in their opening fixtures at home losing 25-6 and 10-3 to Kenya’s Papa and Chui respectively at Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday.

In the opening game at 2:30 pm Victoria put up a spirited fight but were let down by ball handling errors that kept them lose possession of the ball through knock-ons in the 22 and 5yard area of the opponent.

“We committed several mistakes and those led to our defeat. That is now gone and we have to go back on the drawing board before our next game against Ndovu in Kakamega on Saturday,” team captain Michael Tamale stated.

Solomon Okias scored Victoria’s consolation penalty.

In the second game, last year’s finalists Hima Rwenzori were humiliated 25-6 by Kenya’s Papa in the game played at Kyadondo.
