Rotary hosts over 1,200 delegates for global conference

At least 1,200 participants from across the globe have convened in Kampala for an international conference of Rotary International.

At least 1,200 participants from across the globe have convened in Kampala for an international conference of Rotary International.

The 89th District Conference and Assembly which started Wednesday at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo is hosted by District 9211 which is made up of Uganda and Tanzania.

Peters Musoke, the organising chair, told New Vision that delegates from the US, UK, South Africa, East Africa and West Africa had confirmed participation in the conference.

The three-day event will be marked by charity activities that include motivational talks by renowned speakers and a cultural nite featuring traditional cultural leaders.

Congolese musician Koffi Olomide will on Friday perform at the Rotary Blood Bank Concert alongside several East African artistes.
