JINJA humbled Kololo SS by seven wickets at Lugogo and the records tumbled. One, the victory made Jinja the 2014 Girls Schools Cricket Week Champions.

Two, it gave Jinja the record haul of Cricket Week titles, with five.

Three, it was Jinja SS’ third consecutive crown, another record.

Put differently, Jinja SS is the greatest team in the 13 year-old history of the premier talent development tournament.

Yesterday at Lugogo, Habib Magalula’s side completed their dominance of this year’s edition, winning their sixth game in six matches.

Batswoman of the tournament Damalie Busingye led Jinja SS with a mature 26 runs after Kololo had been restricted to 59/9 in the first innings. Patricia Busingye took 3/8 as Jinja’s bowlers applied the pressure on Kololo’s attack, led by Mary Nalule with eight runs.

It was a collective batting display that left Saidat Kemigisha’s team with the difficult task of restraining the rampant defending champions, a task they were never going to manage.
