Omar, Blick opponent arrive for Africa event

Kenya’s top rider in the MX85 cc Elias Sherman and MX1 team mate Samir Sherman are not taking anything for granted and made early arrival to spy on the rivals training.

Kenya’s top rider in the MX85 cc Elias Sherman and MX1 team mate Samir Sherman are not taking anything for granted and made early arrival to spy on the rivals training.

Elias Sherman who is out to battle Uganda’s top riders Ali Omar and Alistair Blick in the 85cc category arrived over the over the weekend took time to train in the Uganda Motorsport Arena track in Busiika.
 

National team captain Arthur Blick Jnr confirmed the development in an interview with the New Vision Online.
 

“Yes the two arrived and trained in the track and are training after our team trainings,” Blick stated.
 

Blick further explained that the track will be closed on Wednesday till Saturday when all teams including Kenya, Ivory Coast, Tanzania and hosts Uganda will have their official training time before Sunday competitions.
 

Sherman arrived with his father Samir Sherman who will face off with Arthur Blick Jnr, Maxime Van Pee, Barack Orland and Talha Kiggundu in the MX1 show down.
 

Meanwhile Uganda’s crowd favourite Maxime Van Pee arrived in the country from Europe ready for the FIM-Africa Central Africa Motocross Championship on Easter Sunday at Busiika.
 

“I came early to train and master the track before the event and I will use my KTM 350, 2014 model,” Maxime stated.
 

“I know both Kenya,s Tutu Maina and Ivan Guya have been in Europe training but am not scared, I have improved my speed and am ready for Them. I know with Blick, Barack victory in the MX1 category is ours,” Maxime stressed.
 

The three round event that have riders from Kenya, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, DRC and Hosts Uganda is co-sponsored by Vision Group, TOTAL, Mountain Dew, IAA, UAP and AON Insurance, Safe Solution and Fotogenix.
