FIFA to construct $300,000 Goal Project

JUST days after URA FC officially unveiled plans to construct its own stadium, FUFA has handed over Njeru technical training centre to Infra-Tech Consult Ltd and Kabbs Technical Services after the football governing body received a sh 720m ($300,000) plan to complete part of its infrastructure. 

FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson revealed that Infra-Tech and Kabbs signed a 5 months contract with the federation to construct a perimeter wall and office block that will help modernize the first three phases. 

‘’I believe the structures will enable FUFA have all its programs in place conveniently” said Watson.

Infra-Tech director of engineering Ibrahim Kabugo who will be supervising contractor Kabbs, said that the construction program will take a period of 5 to 6 months.

’’We shall construct a perimeter wall, changing room with a pavilion, administration block with offices for the FUFA president, regional secretariat and Chief Executive Officer as well as a boardroom of 50 to 100 people” Kabugo revealed. 

FUFA president Moses Magogo said that the fully finished Goal Project 4 will help FUFA smoothen the development of football in the country. 

"Football cannot be developed without infrastructure in place. So FIFA Goal Project 4 is a gift from FIFA to Ugandans because of the past projects by FUFA headed by past presidents the late Dennis Obua and Lawrence Mulindwa. 

We now look forward to modernizing the facility so that we can have more FIFA programs easily and saving the expenses we would have incurred at hotels. This training facility will benefit all Ugandans” said Magogo. 

Construction is expected to start this month.
