President Yoweri Museveni will hand over some of Buganda kingdom properties tomorrow (Tuesday), deputy Presidential secretary, Linda Nabusayi, has confirmed.
The handover of properties arises out a memorandum of understanding signed between Buganda Kingdom and the Government in August last year.
The agreement was negotiated by the Buganda Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, together with a team of other Buganda officials who included attorney general Apollo Makubuya, Prince David Wasajja and Herbert Ndiwalana.
The properties to be returned to Buganda include; administrative chiefs land, estates of Amagombolola and Masaza (parishes and county headquarters) and arrears of up to sh20b.
The ceremony to hand over the properties will be held at State House Entebbe.
Negotiations between the Buganda kingdom and the government yielded fruit in August last year.
The Buganda Kingdom spokesperson could not easily be reached for a comment.
