URA de-registers 900 companies for defaulting on VAT

Uganda Revenue Authority has de-registered 901 companies for failure to remit Value Added Tax (VAT) collected on the tax body’s behalf.
Uganda Revenue Authority has de-registered 901 companies for failure to remit Value Added Tax (VAT) collected on the tax body’s behalf.
URA Spokesperson, Paul Kato, said the companies have for a period of more than a year failed to remit VAT to URA.
Kato said the defaulting companies will be pursed to meet their obligation.
