MOTOCROSS young star Talha Kiggundu is targeting a continental title win in the future and that is the driving force behind his success.

Kiggundu has warned MX1 category riders not to underestimate him in the FIM-Central Africa Motocross Challenge due on Easter Sunday at the Uganda Motorsport Arena Busiika.

The 18 yr old and 2013 national champion in the MX2 category elevated to the MX1 this season and is currently third in the national standings behind Maxime Van Pee and Arthur Blick Jnr in the first and second positions respectively.

“I know some of them think that am not a threat to them, but they should watch out. This is my first time to rub shoulders with them and I will use this opportunity to write history,” Kiggundu told New Vision Sport after training in Busiika on Sunday.

He added that his Kawasaki 250cc 2012 model is in good condition and if it doesn’t let him down, he wants to upset the top riders and title favourites.

“My focus is to become African champion and this is the opportunity to prove my seriousness by getting a podium finish in this regional event,” Kiggundu stressed.

Kiggundu will battle experienced top riders from Kenya including Ivan Guya, Tutu Maina and defending champion Shivam Vinayak and teammates Maxime van Pee, Barack Orland and Arthur Blick Jnr.
