Telecoms to mobilise for national ID registration

The State Minister for Internal Affairs, James Baba, has called all telecommunication companies to rally the public to create awareness about the mass enrolment of the National ID Registration which they are about to embark on.

Minister Baba was Thursday talking to officials from different communication companies at Kololo Air strip in Kampala where they discussed issues concerning the registration for national IDs.

Among those who attended meeting were the permanent secretary in the ministry Internal Affairs, Dr. Stephen Kagoda.

They agreed with these companies to use different methods to communicate to people like SMS, caller tunes, and other methods possible to make the the public aware of the registration for the national IDs which starts on April 14.
