Nemostars had succumbed to yet another straight sets defeat (25-20, 25-23, 25-18) at the on-going African Club Championship in Sousse, Tunisia.

It is their second successive defeat making it an uphill task for them to recover and make an impact in their Pool C games where the front runners remain Esperence de Tunis, Ahly Benghazi of Libya and Port Douala of Cameroon are contesting for the top two slots in the group.

Nemostars coach Anthony Ndaula pointed out the fact that his players have continuously failed to contain reception at the championship.

Ndaula was particularly upset that team could not hold onto reception even after pushing GSU to a 25-23 in the second set.

“We lost to the GSU. Like the Esperence (of Tunisia in the first match), we are failing to deal with their serves that have given us a lot of problems,” Ndaula noted.

Only top two teams in each of the four pools qualify for the quarterfinals to play in a knock out and determine the qualifiers till the final.

Third and fourth ranked teams in the pools will play for the 9 to 16 brackets in the same format while teams ranked 5th in each preliminary pool will fight for the 17 to 20 brackets. The team ranked 6th in Nemostars’ pool C will automatically finish as 21st position.
