LUKAYA - Residents of Lukaya are yet to comprehend the voodoo associated with a particular spot where two cheating couples have perished in accidents at different intervals.

The latest incident involves Annet Nabizizi, 28, who left her home having told the husband she was going to visit family.

However, according to residents, it turned out Nabizizi, a mother of three, had gone on a rendezvous with her lover, William Kiggundu Kiroddo, 47, a lorry driver in Lukaya.

Kiroddo and Nabizizi who both hail from Kakwanzi village, Bukulula sub county, Kalungu district are reported to have been lovers before the latter got married.

The Kalungu traffic boss, IP Denis Kweyamba, said the fatal accident ocurred on Monday night when the couple perished in a tipper at Bbajja in Lukaya Town Council. He attributed the accident to drink driving.

Last year, at the same spot, a prominent businessman, Muhamad Kasekere and Robinah Happy, a married woman, died when a car they were travelling in crashed and caught fire. Robinah was a wife of Daniel Luwukya.

Kiroddo, who is survived by three wives, is renowned to have always been mired in women problems. In 2012, he is reported to have had misunderstandings with his second wife, Elizabeth Nakidde whom he accused of bringing witchcraft at his home.

On that occasion, he accused her of bringing into this house snake eggs and placed them under the mattress as had been instructed by witchdoctors. There was mayhem in the village after Kiroddo discovered the eggs that had hatched into snakes.

According to residents, Nakidde sought the services of a witchdoctor after she learnt that her husband was planning to bring in a third wife, Agnes Nabuuma.
