Museveni to address Pan-African MPs in SA

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to address lawmakers of the Pan-African Parliament in South Africa later on Tuesday.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to address lawmakers of the Pan-African Parliament in South Africa later on Tuesday (today).


Museveni was invited by the Pan-African Parliament to give a talk to mark ten years of its existence.

He flew to South Africa on Monday and touched down at Lanseria International Airport. There, he was received by South Africa's minister for transport, Ben Martin, Uganda's ambassador to South Africa, Julius Moto, and Pan-African Parliament 4th vice president, Dr.Gayo Ashebir.

Museveni also received a bouquet of flowers from Celine Karungi.

The visiting statesman later met his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma at State House Pretoria.

The Pan African parliament headquarters are at Midrand, an area in central Gauteng Province of South Africa.

Other Ugandans that will attend the session to listen to Museveni’s speech are opposition chief whip Cecilia Ogwal (Dokolo woman) and Onyango Kakooba (Buikwe North).
