For Uganda to become a better place for future generations, there is need to reinvent family values, balance quality time for; family life, career development and amassing wealth.

It was noted that the yardstick of success has been put so high in a society where one is expected to have a house, drive a car, have a good job or a successful business and be happily married.

"What is success?" asked the Nabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda in rhetoric. "Is it having a lot of money, having a good job, doing the same job consistently for decades, being a minister or having a successful marriage?"

"It is a combination of one whole," tipped Nagginda. "These are crowned by love, faith and persistence.

Society ought to jealously guard against technological advancement which exploits women as objects of pornography.

Our challenge is to remain relevant in making our homes the springboard for a better future."

She urged parents to enrol their children for the annual ‘ekisakati’ (camp) to brace them for the fast changing world.

They need work ethics to succeed in the competitive job market places and social etiquette.

Nagginda reasserted that the family institution will address the big issues plaguing the country like poverty, street children, crime and greed.

This was during the second annual Women's dinner at Serena Hotel March 14, 2014 under the theme ‘Inspiring change: Principles of successful women every man should know’.

The finance minister, Maria Kiwanuka agreed with Nagginda but added that the challenge is for women to turn their challenges into advantages.

"Let us embrace our womanhood but do not act like a man," said Kiwanuka.

"Let us play our roles as a wife, mother, daughter and sister.  Surround yourself with people with positive energy, new skills, a
vision and the will," she added
