DECOLAS Kiiza said that his new role as financial director of domestic football body FUFA will be easier than the previous one as acting competitions director.

FUFA yesterday announced that Kiiza had been elevated to the new role.

The Mengo-based FUFA formerly had a vice president in charge of finance serving in a voluntary capacity.

The position was held by Anthony Kimuli before it was scrapped for the new role of finance director that comes with a salary.

Last year, world body advised that the new office be created. Kiiza said in an interview soon after the announcement that, “it is a new challenge for me but I don’t think it is difficult than the role I held before.

“It is a field I am familiar with. It is going to be easy for me.”

The official will be in charge of financial planning and direction in FUFA.

Kiiza, who is an instructor of Corporate Financial Management, is a professional chartered accountant.

He joined the FUFA administration five years ago.
