IT was sweet revenge for KCCA as they returned to local action with a win over Kavumba side Soana.

It was a timely morale booster for KCCA who were still reeling from a dismissal from the CAF Champions League by Zambian side Nkana.

Soana beat KCCA by the same margin last September at the champions Lugogo home ground.

Soana, who maintained third position even after losing, looked set for another win over the Lugogo giants when they took the lead through former KCCA player Siraje Turyamuhebwa.

But KCC’s lead striker leveled matters shortly afterwards before Michael Birungi made it 2-1 for the visitors.  All goals were in the first half.

If KCCA, who have played three matches less than table leaders Vipers, maintain its winning form, they will further tighten the race for silverware.

At Namboole Sports Club Victoria University easily overcame second from the bottom Entebbe.

Scores by Noah Semakula and Dan Nsubuga in the third and fifth minutes later lead to a 3-0 win when Moses Senkasana put the ball in his own net.

In Uganda Cup action URA trounced Hope Doves 12-0 in L:ugazi.

Ali Feni hit the back of the net five times while, Erisa Sekisambu and James Kasibante had a brace each.  The other scorers  Frank Kalanda, Augustine Nsumba and Saidi Kyeyune got a goal each.

Elsewhere Yunus Sentamu was back to his scoring ways as Vipers beat Kireka 2-0. Joseph Mpande got Vipers’ second.
