MONICANtege returned 165 gross over two days to win the 4th edition of the Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open on Saturday.
The handicap 5 golfer who led day-one with seven strokes becomes the third golfer from Uganda Golf Club to win the event. She returned 83 gross on day two to win her first major tournament of the year.
Previous winners have all come from outside Entebbe including last year’s winner Iddi Madina from, Arusha. UGC’s Jasper Kamukama and Flavia Namakula won the previous two editions.
The overall net prize was claimed by twenty year old Resty Nalutaaya whose familiarity with the Entebbe course spurred her to victory. The twenty year old is a caddy at Entebbe Club.
Lugazi’s Betty Alikyogera took the group A prize with Samalie Naikomba claiming the group B.
The men subsidiary event was won by Edwin Tumusiime while Ivan Tumwebaze and Pastor Lee were group B and C winners respectively.
Entebbe will next host the Orange quarterly mug of mugs on March 29th.
