PRESIDENT Yoweri has said the traditional family lifestyle that casts the girlchild in the background in preference of boy children needs to be dropped to achieve women's progress.
Speaking during the Women's Day celebrations at Wigins Secondary School play ground in Kumi district, Museveni said marginalising girls in the field of education would lead to unbalanced growth.

"Whenever there is a choice to make between a girl and a boy on who should continue with education, the girl is left behind. This must stop," Museveni stressed.
A total of 246 people were awarded the golden medal for various accomplisments while 99 recieved the Nalubaale medal.
