Ntege (HC 5) returned 82 gross to take the lead in the ladies group A while Namukasa shares the day one lead with Samalie Naikomba with a total score of 70 nett each.

Ntege, from Uganda Golf Club, is ten strokes off par but seven strokes better than Sally Hunt and Aggie Konde who are also tied in second position with 89 gross each.

Katy Kabenge (90 gross) and Sheila Kesiime (91gross) are fourth and fifth respectively going into the final round of the two-day annual competition.

The tournament has attracted thirty seven ladies while over 100 men are expected to play in the subsidiary event on Saturday.

To spice up the event the men will use the ladies tees and are expected to return better scores.

Meanwhile Deo Akope and Denis Anguyo Uganda’s representatives at the Kenya open that acts as a European tour qualifier are six and eight strokes off the projected cut off point.

Akope who shot an opening 73 was undone by 5 bogeys and a double bogey on the par 4 hole No. 1 for a total of 78 on day two.

Similarly Anguyo game wasn’t any better despite improving his day one scores by one stroke (76) for a total of 153.
