KCCA unhappy with lodgings in Kitwe

KCCA seems to have no lessons from previous cases of mistreatment of Ugandan clubs on foreign assignment.

KCCA is very bitter having been booked in a noisy hotel ahead of their CAF Champions League encounter with Zambia’s Nkana FC. Team officials have complained that the visiting side deserves a better place.

Such complaints were until about five years ago very common until Ugandan teams started having advance delegations to foreign countries.

This proved very helpful as the right hotels were always secured on top of ensuring that other basics were also in place.

Despite having all the resources required, KCC instead took things for granted.

KCCA delegation leader Samuel Mpiima said in Kitwe yesterday that the Edinburgh Hotel’s surroundings are too noisy.

Mpiima, who is also FUFA executive committee member, said it is unfair for KCCA to be accommodated in such an environment.

He, however, said his team will not be distracted by the off-the-pitch incidents. Nkana secretary Kenny Mwansa declined to comment on the issues raised by the Ugandans.

Meanwhile the match has been moved to Kitwe’s Arthur Davies Stadium from Nkana Stadium. Mwansa said the change was due to a technical problem.
