MASAKA LC Football Club risk forfeiting three points and two goals from their match played against Police FC at the Recreation Grounds in Masaka on Tuesday.

The home side walked out of the match after 65minutes of play in protest after the referee awarded a penalty against them.

FUFA vice-president in charge of the Super League Mujib Kasule has warned that if found guilty of walking off the pitch, Masaka will face appropriate punishment to avoid a recurrence of the same behaviour.

Earlier reports had indicated that crowd violence forced the match to end prematurely but Kasule said that the federation investigations ruled out the claim but pinned the host team for aborting the match.

“Whoever will be found guilty will forfeit the points and will be also be fined (unspecified amount) when the league commission sits on Thursday. One thing our person on the ground has also told us is the fact that there was no crowd violence,” Kasule said at the FUFA press conference at Mengo on Wednesday morning.

At the time of abortion, Masaka LC was leading 1-0.

Vipers SC now lead the 16 team league table with 35 points, one more than Kira Young FC after beating Simba 1-0 on Tuesday.
