Wakiso kidnapped baby found after a month

A three-year-old toddler who was reportedly stolen by a maid from his parent’s home in Bweyogerere in Wakiso distrct has been found after a month.

It was reported that Agnes Nakato and Joseph Madre, who operate a salon in Bweyogerere hired a maid Aisha Birungi, from Master of maids, a maids recruitment company, the day she was hired, is the same day she stole her baby.

Kenneth Kizito was recovered from Lubaga village in Mpumudde sub-county, Jinja district.

An eyewitness accounts that on his way to work, he saw a lady carrying a child, and within a short time, he realized that the baby was left alone and the lady had taken off, he immediately went and informed the chairman who came and picked the baby before taking him to Jinja Police station.

“We found the baby in the bush crying. I took him to hospital for check-up because he had wound on his middle fingers,” said Erias Katuluba, the chairman.

The recovered boy has wounds on his fingers and has no appetite for food.

“I suspect that maid had taken my son for rituals, he does not have most of the nails and his fingers have wounds. Ever since we came back home, he does not want to eat and he cries a lot,” said the mother.

With tears of joy rolling down on her cheeks, Agnes Nakato, the mother thanked New Vision for helping them during the search for his son.

The police also suspect that Peter Kaidibwa, the owner of the maids recruitment company was part of the deal to steal the baby.

“When we released him, after three days, we got a call from the Jinja police that the baby was recovered. He had a hand,” said David Epedu, the DPC, Bweyogerere.
