CRANES captain Andy Mwesigwa has tipped amateur football players in Uganda to maintain discipline if they are to seek for professional football.

The Cranes captain was speaking at a gathering of football fans and players at Mainstreet Primary School Playground on Saturday where he urged players to be disciplined, hardworking and God fearing.

'I grew up in Jinja town so I know that east or west, home is best and Jinja is my home after my short football career. As one's career in football is just for a few years, you really have to sacrifice for it as an investment to succeed and join the professional ranks.” Mwesigwa said.

“So if you are to become a professional player, you have to be hardworking during training, be disciplined towards your club leaders and with this also try to avoid alcohol, drugs and smoking. This will help you succeed in life as a professional footballer”, added Mwesigwa who plies his trade in the Vietnam league.

He added that above all, every footballer must be God fearing.
