Uganda once again joins the international community to celebrate World Wetlands Day. World Wetlands Day is the day that stakeholders refl ect on the important role that wetlands play in the lives of people, as well as the general quality of the local and global environment through the provision of wetland products, services and attributes.
Each year since 1997, Government agencies, Non-Governmental organizations and citizens at all levels in Uganda, commemorate World Wetlands Day to raise public awareness of wetland values and benefi ts in general and the Ramsar Convention in particular.
