The education and sports minister, Jessica Alupo has asked Kyambogo University students who have not appeared on the graduation list to remain calm, but continue pursuing the clearance process until they are cleared.

She said such students will be allowed to access their academic transcripts but graduate next year.

Alupo was responding to complaints raised by hundreds of students who gathered at the University on Tuesday demanding to be included on the graduation final list.

The Police, commandeered by the Jinja Road commander, Wesley Nganizi fired tear gas to disperse students as they refused to leave the administration block to allow the investiture of the new chancellor, Prof. John Ssebuwufu, who replaced Dr. Eric Adriko.

“All institutions have systems and regulations; I insist that these regulations must be followed. A process should be followed so that all errors are rectified and those that have been cleared graduate be allowed to graduate.
