KCCA FC ‘s  advancement into the next round of CAF Champions League after eliminating Sudan giants Al Merrikh spurred them on as they thrashed CRO 8-1 in the FUFA Super League today at Lugogo.

The defending champions gave no chance to CRO, with Michael Birungi bagging a hattrick while Tony Odur netted a brace.

Brian Majwega, William Wadri and Hakim Ssenkumba also got their names on the score sheet.

CRO’s Mubarak Wamboya scored a penalty in the dying minutes of the game after KCCA goalkeeper Salim Magoola fouled him in the box.

“The game was good since the players followed what I told them to do. This comfortable win will also give confidence to the team ahead of other FSL games and CAF Champions League engagements” KCCA tactician George Nsimbe stated.

Nsimbe also noted that league is marathon so it’s not yet time to decide the winner.

He further added that he will continue working upon the fitness levels of his players.

The win saw KCCA FC move into third place, two points adrift of table leaders Vipers.
