THE Uganda Lacrosse Union (ULU) Secretary General Maurice Sserunkuma admitted yesterday that without foreign help, Dream 2014 would have passed unnoticed.

This was at the Uganda team’s training session at MUBS playground Nakawa. To a game that has been around for about four years in the country, playing at international level is indeed a dream and Sserunkuma, with the rest of the team, are very grateful to the man who led 30 days of fundraising which yielded $130,000.

“If it wasn’t Frank Kelly, all the three and half years of hard work would have come to nought. All these boys have put in and sacrificed a lot for this game to grow and they needed a reward which God gave them through Kelly, who has that good heart of giving back,” Sserunkuma stated on behalf of the team.

The team is undergoing final touches. Players are drawn from Strykers, Panthers, Oneonta, Warriarz and Kings.

Mid last year, a non-profit organisation, Fields of Growth International, in partnership with the Uganda Lacrosse Union, formally announced its plans to bring Team Uganda to the 2014 FIL World Championships.

The initiative was launched through the Dream 2014 Campaign in which Kelly played a big role in mobilising.

Who is Frank Kelly?

Frank Kelly III serves as CEO of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group Inc, Kelly & Associates Financial Services Inc, and Kelly Integral Solutions LLC (KELLY). He is also a group insurance administrator, broker, and consultant in health care.
