Stecia Mayanja's ex-husband, Fred Kitaka Busuulwa, is a distraught man.

Returning home after a long say's work over the weekend, Kitaka expected to find a glass of cold passion juice awaiting him and his loving new wife to sooth him. However, as he made his way into his compound, something was amiss.

His home was engulfed in darkness and eerily silent, like a night in the desert.

Thinking he was a victim of load shedding he peeked at the neighbours but discovered they had power.

Panic took over him as he approached the  house and pushed the door that was not locked, only to be welcomed by a shell of a home.

In his own words, he flicked the switch on the wall and nothing. Even the bulbs in the entire house had been taken!

Kitaka said his bride had packed all and sundry, including the mops and bulbs!

This is Rema Namagembe who Kitaka fondly referred to as Remmy, the beautiful bride who replaced Stecia Mayanja of Eagles Production.

Kitaka was swept off his feet like a leaf in a whirlwind when Namagembe introduced him to her parents in Kiweesi - Mityana last year.

The initial meeting was infact mistaken for an introduction ceremony by locals because Kitaka gave her parents a lot of gifts.

About two weeks back Kitaka, while chatting with this reporter, professed that Namagembe had given him such a peace of mind and washed away his heartache after losing Stecia.

“This girl completes me in many ways; she has washed away the tears of losing Stecia and other women that I lost,” Kitaka told this reporter.

Further professing his undying affection, Kitaka said his bride was worth a thousand women put together. Little did he know Namagembe was a lamb veiled in a wolf's skin.

Namagembe happens to be the fourth woman Kitaka has lost after Mariam Kisaakye, Sarah Nakanyike and Stecia Mayanja.

Namagembe spent nights out

Opening up about his misery, Kitaka, 40, a renowned car dealer in town, said Namagembe blinded him with affection to an extent he failed to see her through her faults.

"Even when she slept out and gave flimsy excuses I always listened," Kitaka seems to regret.

"She once told me she slept in a bar because she was too drunk to drive home and yet there was a traffic operation in town," he recalls.

However Kitaka discovered that Namagembe had a nkuba kyeyo, a father to her two kids. She only ensnared Kitaka when the father of her  children took long to return from abroad.

When Namagembe therefore got wind that the father of her children was about to return, on the advice of her siblings, she packed her bags and fled to rejoin the young family she abandoned in Nyanama, according to Kitaka.

Last Friday Kitaka, says, the truth started to dawn on him when he saw tale tell signs that Namagembe was probably winding up with him.

On that night Kitaka's bride did not return home till 10.00am on Saturday. The next morning he went to work and returned at 1.00pm to find Namagembe snoring away. All attempts to wake her were futile.

He left her to rest and went back to work, only to return later to an empty house.

Kitaka storms in-laws home demanding his bride

In his confusion, Kitaka stormed Serina Nnaalongo's home in Mityana where he was introduced by Namagembe. Serina had been officially introduced to him as Namagembe's mother during the visit last year.

To his utter shock, Serina counselled Kitaka: "House property always belongs to the woman of the house; if that is what she took she did not steal!"

Kitaka is reported to have literally jumped out of his skin and demanded that they give him back all the property that was carried from his house in Namasuba.

Amidst all the chaos, Dr. Alex Mutebi, who hails from the home promised Kitaka they would assist him in tracing the whereabouts of Namagembe.

Mutebi concurred with Kitaka that if Namagembe took his property without his consent then it was theft.

Kitaka was further alarmed to learn that in addition to his in-laws not knowing where Namagembe is hiding, her biological parents live in Ndeeba and not in Kiwesi where he was introduced!
