Over 1000 invigilators and coordinators to supervise health training exams have been warned against harassing students during examination time over suspected malpractice.

This was during a briefing to exam coordinators and invigilators for Uganda Allied Health Examinations which started Monday in all health training institutions across the country.

The warning was sounded by the chairman Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB) Stephen Rwandembo at the boards’ secretariat in Ntinda.

“Your work is to observe and coordinate the exams, anything outside that you must consult us, you are not supposed to punish candidates,”Rwandembo said.

He said some of the invigilators behave in an inhumane manner. He asked the team to leave the responsibility of punishing to the board.

According to Julius Kamwesiga, the principle examination officer UAHEB, atotal of over 7,000 candidates in different medical training institutions both public and private were registered for this year’s exams for the award of diplomas and certificates.

Kimoga, the executive secretary UAHEB told the team to write detailed reports about the exercise to enable the body Improve the examination of health personnel.

He also appealed to the invigilators to exhibit a high degree of professionalism cooperation, transparency and integrity wherever they will be deployed.
