SCVU v Don Bosco
Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) FC moles in Lubumbashi have warned coach Morley Byekwaso to watch out for the opponent’s flanks when they play DR Congo’s CS Don Bosco in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup on Saturday.
As Byekwaso took time off his regular training programme to dig out information about the Congolese side, he has learnt that Don Bosco’s plan is to rapture the SCVU defence via the flanks.
This way, they will avoid what they called the Ugandan side’s solid central defence.
SCVU’s fort has always been built around Denis Iguma and Savio Kabugo. However the two have been indefinitely suspended for breach of the club code of conduct.
Whereas SCVU will confront the Congolese with a number of enthusiastic first timers on the international scene, Don Bosco has lined up ten professional players for the encounter.
“I have my friends there (Lubumbashi), who have told me what Don Bosco will do. We are working on killing off their planned approach through the wings,” Byekwaso said. “I must say that we are physically fit and only working on tactical discipline which is also working out very well.”
CS Don Bosco will line up Ghanaian goalkeeper Ernest Sowah and Zimbabwean defender Oswald Kalamba among senior players on the team.
Midfielders Zambian Joseph Sitali, Zimbabweans Carrington Gomba, Darryl Nyandoro, Christopher Semakweri, and Ghanaian Ibrahim Issaka, Botswana’s Dirang Moloi and Phenyo Mongala are all available for Don Bosco.
Zambian striker Luka Lungu and Botswana’s Jerome Ramatlhakwane will command the Congolese attack at the 35000 seater Stade Frédéric Kibassa Maliba in Lubumbashi.
SCVU are currently camped at Obel Hotel in Bweyogerere and is expected to jet out to DRC on Thursday.
However Byekwaso is still not sure of his own team’s approach for the fixture.
