MARATHON runner Jackson Kiprop’s condition is now improving and doctors have said that he will not need to be put on a dialysis machine.

The hospital’s spokesperson Enock Kusasira confirmed that Kiprop‘s kidney condition is not acute as was initially feared.

“Kiprop may not be put on a dialysis machine since his kidneys may be active again,” Kusasira said.

Kiprop was on Sunday evening admitted at Mulago Hospital and diagnosed with kidney failure.

Kiprop was on Sunday evening rushed to Mulago Hospital by fellow training partner, World and Olympic champion Stephen Kiprotich, after he developed some breathing complications during their training in Kapkoros, Kenya.

He was transported to Kampala together with his wife Irene, who is caring for him.

Kiprop, was Uganda’s best performer in the New York Marathon where he finished in sixth position and is the Mumbai Marathon reigning champion.
