The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) and the Office of the Auditor General (AG) are investigating anomalies at Kyambogo University.


According to Lawrence Madete, the Kyambogo University spokesman, officials from the two institutions have pitched camp at Uganda’s second biggest public university for some time now.

The investigations follow reports of gross abuse of office and mismanagement of the institution by Kyambogo University officials. Also being investigated is fraud allegations against the academia.

Madete revealed that the IGG has deployed three teams at the university to majorly probe abuse of office, while the AG has sent a team of 13 officials to undertake a forensic investigation of the institution.

The investigations undertaken by the AG are largely on mismanagement and procurement at the university since 2008, after a request by Parliament.
