Nile Special Rugby Premier League
Kobs v Lira Bulls (Legends, 2:30pm)
Heathens v Warriors (Kyadondo, 4:30pm)
Rhinos v Mongers (Legends, 4:30pm)
MUTONI Warriors coach Herbert Wafula can sometimes be brutally honest who would rather hurt optimists with the bitter truth than feed them on false hope.
Asked about today tie against MTN Heathens in the Nile Special Rugby Premier League at Kyandondo, Wafula retorted, “I don’t expect a win and I won’t promise a miracle. Certainly not now, may be another season. I have got to be realistic.
“We shall play our best and try to measure the progress we have made using such big matches.”
Warriors that are third from the bottom instead have an eye on the battle to avoid relegation as two teams will be dropped in the Uganda Rugby Union event this season.
“The game against Heathens will be tough on our young and small squad but we have to immediately shift attention to the Mongers game which we should win to avoid relegation,” Wafula stated.
Warriors need to beat Mongers again to head for the ‘relegation battle tie’ against Pirates with less tension.
With Warriors already submissive, Heathens captain Michael Wokorach can count on those points but they will not be enough to close a 10-point gap on table leaders D’Mark Kobs (43 points).
With Kobs hosting bottom-placed Lira Bulls, they are mostly likely to maintain their comfortable lead atop the table.
At Legends, Ezee Money Rhinos face Mongers in the only tie that is unpredictable this weekend.
