Mbarara is in for a cocktail of local artistes this weekend following a visit there by the Coca-Cola Rated Next Season Two search team.

The team, which will stage at Mbarara’s Agip Motel on Friday January 17 and Saturday January 18 in search of the region’s best singing talent, will be screaming into the town with three celebrated local artistes: rapper Mun G and hit singers Cindi and Rema.

The three will be the lead performers Saturday evening at Mbarara’s Independence Grounds, in a concert that will wrap up the weekend of auditions for the contest, whose winner gets to walk away with sh50m and a recording contract with Swangz.

Of course, Mbarara’s Dodi Mugisha, who made it to the Top 10 level last season, will be one of the main attractions at this concert.

Season One winner Daniel Kaweesa will also show revelers what he has been up to since his win last year.
With his hit single Nebwonfunya already catching on, Kaweesa strike a chord with many a fan who voted him winner.

Be sure to look out for his other songs in the works, especially Number Emu, Dance, Umeme and Zina Nange among others.

Rebecca Nanziri, who came second, has also been up to some serious stuff in the studios, and will definitely be showcasing it.

We are talking ballads like Kali mu glass, Wankuba nyo and Kanjatule, all songs that are picking up pretty fast.

The Coca Cola Rated Next Season Two journey, tag-lined Sing It, will be relayed to fans across the country via Urban TV, Bukedde TV1 and 2, TV West, X FM and New Vision.

Want to audition in Mbarara this weekend? Make sure you are at the auditions venue by 9:00am, as the queues are expected to be really long, if last year’s experience is anything to go by.

And for a bit of latest update, judge Maurice Kirya gets replaced by Benon of Swangz, while X FM’s Siima Sabiti and producer Sharpe Sewali continue with the search.
