YUNUS Sentamu has been the talk of the tournament so far since his matchwinning performance against Burkina Faso on Sunday.

Watched by CAF President Issa Hayatou, Ssentamu has become a sensation among fans in Cape Town.

“I am really greatful to God and the whole team for the result, we have really worked hard to make history,” said Sentamu.

After the press conference he was voted man of the match for scoring a brace and he could not hide his excitement as he posed for a photo shoot in front of international media.

“I am greatful and believe this is a mark in my career. I can’t wait to move on although it all goes back to teamwork but most importantly I dedicate this medal to my mother Kabugho Ramula for praying for me and also guiding me.

Mummy is a special person to me. Her council and prayers have been behind my success.”

As Cranes prepared for their second game against Zimbabwe on Thursday, Sentamu pointed that his two goals against the West Africans were just a fraction of the goals he has scored over the last couple of years.

“This a special moment for me but I have been doing this in the Copa Coca Cola schools Championships.

In 2011, I was top scorer in Tororo while at St Julian SS with nine goals.

“Last year in Kabale, although I was not the top scorer, I scored nine.

“I believe I can emulate what I have done in the past in the underage competitions,” Sentamu added.

The Ugandan striker is joint top scorer on two goals with South Africa striker Bernard Parker.
