Nine youths suspected to be supporters of the embattled Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago have been arrested.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Idi Ibin Ssenkumbi, said the suspects were found with pieces of nailed wood and stones which are used in city riots.
“We have arrested nine suspects from Kisekka Market and were found with stones and nailed woods,” Ssenkumbi told Vision Online on phone.
According to Ssenkumbi, the youths were ferried from Mukono and Butambala to help Lukwago who is making efforts to regain office.
He said that the suspects are detained at Central Police Station where they are being interrogated.
Police deployed at Lukwago’s home as he insisted to match to the office Tuesday.
