Ugandans with a dream to kick-start a singing career can now fine-tune their voices and hit the stage to audition in the second season of the local singing talent show, Coca-Cola Rated Next, Sing It.

Ugandans with a dream to kick-start a singing career can now fine-tune their voices and hit the stage to audition in the second season of the local singing talent show, Coca-Cola Rated Next, Sing It.

This season’s leg, running in conjunction with Vision Group’s Urban TV, was launched yesterday at the home of Century Bottling Company in Namanve, the makers of Coca-Cola and the show’s main sponsors.

Just like Season Two, the winner will once again walk away with sh50m and a life-changing recording contract.

Speaking at the launch of the show, which screened live on Urban TV, Coca-Cola Managing Director Norton Kingwill said they were excited to partner with Vision Group once again to bring back an experience that last season involved traversing the entire country in search of singing talent.

“Season One was very successful for us as a company that has always had a relationship with not only music but also the academia, sport and the like. Now, together with Vision Group’s Urban TV, we are excited to bring you Season Two,” said Kingwill.

Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga, equally excited at the return and immense success of the show, promised that by February 03, the entire country will be able to watch the show, including areas that initially didn’t have access.

He said viewers across the country will be able to access it either on Urban TV, or other Vision Group TV platforms like Bukedde 1 and 2, as well as TV West.

“For those of you who didn’t follow last season, I want to assure you that even though Arua didn’t have access to Urban TV, activities in the town stopped, as residents clamoured to receive their son, Daniel Kaweesa, who won the jackpot and recording contract,” Kabushenga said.

He however added that this time Arua will be tuned in, as Vision Group has invested sh500m towards taking the Urban TV signal there, as well as Soroti and Gulu, whose signal will spill off to Lira and parts of Bunyoro.

Also present at the launch of Season Two were last season’s contest judges: X FM’s Siima Sabiti, local musician Maurice Kirya and producer Sharpe Sewali, who all said they couldn’t wait for the journey across the country to kick off.

The first stop over this season will be in Mbarara on the weekend of January 17th and 18th , and hopefuls can just show up at the auditions venue and show the judges what they have going for them.

Urban TV’s and X FM’s Denzel Mwiyeretsi, who also happens to be a former Big Brother Africa contestant, returns this season as the show’s host.

As it is, Mwiyeretsi already hit the ground running with a live launch show at Namanve, assisted by Daniel Mumbere of Urban TV’s Innovate show.

To crown the launch were performances by last season’s winner Daniel Kaweesa, runner-up Rebecca Nanziri and Kenneth Mugabi, one of the Top 10 finalists.
